தர்ப்பூசணி
தர்ப்பூசணி அல்லது வத்தகை (Watermelon, Citrullus lanatus) ஆப்பிரிக்காவை பூர்வீகமாகக் கொண்ட பூக்கும் தாவரமாகும். இதன் பழம் தர்ப்பூசணிப் பழம், வத்தகப்பழம், கோசாப் பழம், தர்பீஸ், தண்ணீர்ப் பழம், தண்ணீர்ப்பூசணி, தரைப்பூசணி எனவும் அழைக்கப்படும். இது வெளிப்புறத் தோல் பகுதி பச்சை, மஞ்சள், சிலவேளை வெள்ளையாகவும், அதன் உட்புறம் சாறாகவும் இனிப்பான சதைப்பகுதியைக் கொண்டு, சிவப்பிலிருந்து மென்சிவப்பாகவும் சிலவேளை மஞ்சளாகவும், பழுக்காதபோது பச்சையாகவும் காணப்படும்.
