അയർലന്റിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനമാണ് ഡബ്ലിൻ. രാജ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും ഡബ്ലിൻ തന്നെയാണ്. അയർലന്റിന്റെ കിഴക്കൻ തീരത്തിന്റെയും ഡബ്ലിൻ പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയ ഭാഗത്തായി ലിഫി നദിയുടെ തീരത്താണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വൈക്കിങ്ങുകളാണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. മിഡീവിയൽ കാല‍ഘട്ടം മുതൽ അയർലന്റിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട നഗരമാണ് ഡബ്ലിൻ. ഇന്ന് അയർലന്റ് ദ്വീപിലെ ഒരു ഭരണ, ധനകാര്യ, സാംസ്കാരിക കേന്ദ്രമാണ് ഈ നഗരം. യൂറോപ്പിലെ തലസ്ഥാന നഗരങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന ജനസംഖ്യാ വളർച്ചാ നിരക്ക് ഡബ്ലിനിലാണ്.
