ওয়ার্ল্ড আর্চারি ফেডারেশন বা বিশ্ব তীরন্দাজী সংস্থা (সংক্ষেপে ডব্লিউএ বা WA, পূর্বে এটি ফরাসি নাম Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc বা ফিটা নামে পরিচিত ছিল) হল বিশ্বে আন্তর্জাতিক তীরন্দাজী খেলা পরিচালনা ও নিয়ন্ত্রণকারী সংস্থা। এটি সুইজারল্যান্ডের লোজানে অবস্থিত। এটি ১৫৭টি জাতীয় সংস্থা ও অন্যান্য তীরন্দাজী সংস্থার সমন্বয়ে গঠিত এবং আন্তর্জাতিক অলিম্পিক কমিটি কর্তৃক স্বীকৃত।

ইতিহাস

ফিটা ১৯৩১ সালের ৪ সেপ্টেম্ব পোল্যান্ডের লউ (বর্তমানে ইউক্রেনের লভিভ শহর) শহরে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। প্রতিষ্ঠাকালীন সময়ে এর সদস্য সংখ্যা ছিল ৭টি; ফ্রান্স, চেকোস্লোভাকিয়া, সুইডেন, পোল্যান্ড, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, হাঙ্গেরি ও ইতালি। সংগঠনটি প্রতিষ্ঠার উদ্দেশ্য ছিল নিয়মিত আর্চারি চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপের আয়োজন করা এবং অলিম্পিকে তীরন্দাজী ফিরিয়ে আনা (১৯২০ সালের পর তীরন্দাজী খেলা অলিম্পিকে দেখা যায়নি)। ফিটা শেষমেষ ১৯৭২ গ্রীষ্মকালীন অলিম্পিকে তীরন্দাজী অর্ন্তভূক্তের মাধ্যমে সফল হয়।

২০১১ সালের জুলাইয়ে ফিটার ৮০তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকীতে, ফিটা কংগ্রেসের সভায় বিপুল ভোটে নাম পরিবর্তনের প্রস্তাব পাশ হয়। নতুন নাম হয় ওয়ার্ল্ড আর্চারি ফেডারেশন।

গ্রীষ্মকালীন অলিম্পিকে প্রথম তীরন্দাজী যুক্ত হয় ১৯০০ গেমসে এবং ১৯২০ সাল পর্যন্ত চলার পর ১৯২৪ থেকে দীর্ঘ বিরতির পর ১৯৭২ থেকে পুনরায় নিয়মিত ইভেন্ট হিসেবে যুক্ত হয়েছে। দলীয় প্রতিযোগিতা চালু হয় ১৯৮৮ সালে। রিকার্ভ আর্চারি বর্তমানে অলিম্পিকের প্রতিযোগিতায় একমাত্র বিভাগ।

গ্রীষ্মকালীন প্যারালিম্পিকেও তীরন্দাজী প্রতিযোগিতা অন্তর্ভুক্ত আছে। প্যারালিম্পিকে রিকার্ভ আর্চারি ও কম্পাউন্ড বো, এ দুটি বিভাগ চালু আছে। এছাড়া যুব অলিম্পিক গেমসে রিকার্ভ আর্চারি এবং বিশ্ব গেমসে ফিল্ড আর্চারি যুক্ত আছে।

বিশ্বকাপ

The Archery World Cup is an annual event that was inaugurated in 2006. It is designed to present archery in 'spectacular' locations.[3]

The format consists of 4 rounds competed across the world during a calendar year. The best individual and mixed team performers across these rounds are then invited to compete in the World Cup Final at the end of the year.[4]

An indoor World Cup, competed in 3 rounds with a final during the winter season, was inaugurated in the 2010-11 season.

FITA began holding Target World Championships in 1931. They were held every year until 1959, when the Championships became biennial events. 1959 was also the first year that FITA held the World Field Championship.

Presently, there are five principal formats of the World Archery Championships: Outdoor, Indoor, Youth, Para-Archery, and Field. Each is held every two years on different rotations. World Championships are also held every two years in 3D archery and University sport. In 2007, a ski archery World Championships was held in Moscow; this is yet to be repeated and is not included in the current rotation.[5]
