Intervention Research

Guided by the National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United States, CDC provides national leadership and support for the implementation of a high-impact prevention approach to reducing new HIV infections by using combinations of scientifically proven, cost-effective, and scalable interventions and prevention strategies directed towards the most vulnerable populations in the US who are most affected by, or at greatest risk for, HIV infection. Effective Behavioral Interventions Evidence-based interventions (EBIs) are identified through reviewing the scientific literature and listed in the Compendium of Evidence-based Interventions. Resources on selected EBIs and other public health strategies are provided to HIV prevention partners in support of high-impact prevention.
