Women

This infographic presents some facts about HIV among women. There were nearly 40,000 HIV diagnoses in 2015 in the US. Over 7,000 of them were among women. But we are seeing progress. From 2010 to 2014: 20% decrease in HIV diagnoses among all women, 24% decrease among African American women, 16% decrease among Hispanic/Latina women.

Around 1 in 4 people living with HIV in the US is a woman. 61% of new HIV diagnoses are among black women, 19% among white women, 15% among Hispanic/Latina women, and 4% among women of other races/ethnicities.
