തത്തമ്മത്തുമ്പി

തത്തപ്പച്ച നിറത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരിനം കല്ലൻ തുമ്പിയാണ് തത്തമ്മത്തുമ്പി[1][2] - Parkeet Darner. (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം:- Gynacantha bayadera).[3] ഇവയുടെ കാലുകൾ മഞ്ഞനിറത്തിലും വാലും വാലിന്റെ അടിഭാഗവും തവിട്ടുനിറത്തിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. വേഗതയിലും ഉയരത്തിലും പറക്കുന്ന ഇവയെ കൂടുതലായും രാവിലെയും സന്ധ്യാസമയങ്ങളിലുമാണ് കാണുക. സന്ധ്യാസമയങ്ങളിൽ ഇവ വെളിച്ചത്തിനരികിലേക്ക് പറന്നടുക്കാറുണ്ട്. ഇന്ത്യ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഏഷ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ ഇവയുടെ ആവാസകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളാണ്.[4][5][6]
