জায়ফল

জায়ফল (ইংরেজি: Nutmeg, ইন্দোনেশিয়ায় pala) হচ্ছে ফলের দুটি প্রজাতি – অন্যটি (ইংরেজি: mace)। এই দুটিই হচ্ছে Myristica গণের এমন প্রজাতি যাদের থেকে এক রকমের সুগন্ধি মসলা পাওয়া যায়।[1] সবচেয়ে বাণিজ্যিকভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রজাতি হচ্ছে জয়ত্রি বা Myristica fragrans. এটি ইন্দোনেশিয়ার মালাক্কা ও বান্দা দ্বীপে পাওয়া যায়।

জায়ফল বাংলাদেশে বিরিয়ানি রান্নায় বহুল পরিমাণে ব্যবহৃত হয়।[2][3]

হজম শক্তি বৃদ্ধি করে।
