കേരളത്തിൽ കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലുള്ള ഒരു പ്രദേശമാണ് കല്ലുംതാഴം.[1] കൊല്ലം കോർപ്പറേഷനു കീഴിലുള്ള പത്തൊൻപതാമത്തെ വാർഡാണിത്.[2][3][4]

പ്രാധാന്യം

കൊല്ലം കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ അധികാര പരിധിയിലുള്ള കിളികൊല്ലൂർ സോണിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ പ്രദേശത്താണ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കശുവണ്ടി ഫാക്ടറികൾ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.[5] കല്ലുംതാഴത്തു വച്ച് കൊല്ലം ബൈപാസും ദേശീയപാത 744-ഉം കൂട്ടിമുട്ടുന്നു.[6][7][8] കൊല്ലം നഗരത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ജംഗ്ഷൻ കൂടിയാണ് ഈ പ്രദേശം.[9] ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 3 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ വടക്കേവിളയിൽ വലിയ കൂനമ്പായിക്കുളം ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.[10] അയത്തിൽ, മേവറം ചന്ദനത്തോപ്പ്, കുണ്ടറ, കടപ്പാക്കട, ചിന്നക്കട എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചേരുവാൻ കല്ലുംതാഴത്തു നിന്ന് ബസ് സർവീസുകളുണ്ട്.
