মহাশক্তি
হিন্দু শাক্তধর্মে মহাশক্তি (দেবনাগরী সংস্কৃত: महाशक्ति) জগত সৃষ্টির আদি কারণ এবং জগতের প্রধান শক্তি। হিন্দুধর্মে তাকে দিব্য জননীর স্থান প্রদান করা হয়।

শাক্তধর্মে মহাশক্তিকেই সর্বোচ্চ ঈশ্বর মনে করা হয়। তবে বৈষ্ণব ও শৈবধর্মে মহাশক্তি হলেন পুরুষের নারীশক্তি প্রকৃতি। বৈষ্ণবধর্মের সর্বোচ্চ ঈশ্বর বিষ্ণুর প্রকৃতি হলেন লক্ষ্মী এবং শৈবধর্মের কেন্দ্রীয় দেবতা শিবের প্রকৃতি হলেন পার্বতী।[1]
শাক্ত বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী, মহাশক্তি কেবলমাত্র সৃষ্টির কারণই নন, তিনি জগতের সকল পরিবর্তনেরও মূল কারণ। মহাশক্তির আদি ও অন্ত নেই। এই সর্বাপেক্ষে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ রূপটি হল কুণ্ডলিনী শক্তি।[2]
