ওলামা বলতে সাধারণত শিক্ষিত মুসলমান জনগোষ্ঠী বিশেষ করে ইসলামিক পন্ডিতদের বোঝানো হয় যারা ইসলামি শিক্ষার বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে কাজ করে থাকেন [1]। এরা শরিয়াহ আইনের নিয়ন্ত্রক হিসেবেই বেশি পরিচিত। [2]
