ইসলামভীতি

ইসলামোফোবিয়া ( ইসলামভীতি বা ইসলামবিদ্বেষ বা মুসলিম-বিরোধী মনোভাব) (ইংরেজি: Islamophobia বা anti-Muslim sentiment) হল নিন্দার্থে বা ব্যাঙ্গার্থে ব্যবহূত একটি রাজনৈতিক শব্দ যার অর্থ হল ইসলামকে ভয় করা। এর দ্বারা ইসলাম ও মুসলিমদের প্রতি বিদ্বেষ পোষণ করাকেও বোঝানো হয়। ইসলামোফোবিয়ার কারণ হিসেবে অনেকে চরমপন্থী মুসলিমদের সন্ত্রাসী কর্মকান্ডকে দায়ী করলেও অনেকে মূল ধর্মটিকেও এর জন্য দায়ী বলে মনে করেন। সাম্প্রতিক দশকগুলোতে বিভিন্ন স্থানে চরমপন্থী মুসলিমদের সশস্ত্র কর্মকান্ড এবং পশ্চিমা ও ইউরোপীয় বিশ্বে মুসলিম অভিবাসী বেড়ে যাওয়ার কারণে বিভিন্ন স্থানে শব্দটির ব্যবহার বেড়েছে।[1]

সমীক্ষায় দেখা গেছে, মুসলিম পুরুষদের তুলনায় মুসলিম নারীরা ইসলামোফোবিয়ার স্বীকার হয় বেশি।[2] উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ফ্রান্সে ১৯৮৪ সালে মুসলিম নারীদের জন্য কর্মস্থলে এবং প্রকাশ্য জনবহুল স্থানে হিজাব (মস্তকাবরণী, ঘোমটা) পরা নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়, যাকে অনেকেই ইসলামোফোবিয়ার ফলশ্রুতি হিসেবে দেখে থাকেন।[3]
