Marketing and Support for Arthritis Interventions

Tools to help support the promotion of physical activity and self management education interventions

The CDC Arthritis program has developed a variety of tools to support the dissemination and implementation of arthritis-appropriate intervention programs in the community.  Some tools, such as the 1-2-3 Approach to Provider Outreach are designed to help introduce physical activity and self management education programs to health care professionals and others so they can recommend the intervention to their patients with chronic disease.

Other tools, such as the Compendium of Arthritis Appropriate Physical Activity and Self Management Education Interventions, are focused on providing organizations with the information they need to decide to adopt an intervention to meet the needs of their constituents with arthritis and other chronic diseases.

Background information, such as meta-analyses on the effects of self-management education programs is also provided.  Issue briefs based on the results of these meta-analyses are also available.
