State Data Tables

State-Specific Arthritis Prevalence by Select Characteristics

Select a state or territory from the map or dropdown menu below to access tables of state-specific prevalence estimates and important characteristics of adults with arthritis. CDC’s Arthritis Program analyzed data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a state-based, random-digit-dialed telephone survey of the civilian US population aged 18 years or older. Each state or territory has general statistics tables with estimates across three years of the BRFSS (2011, 2013, and 2015), and detailed tables with estimates from the 2015 BRFSS.

For 2015 US maps showing the age-adjusted prevalence of arthritis and the proportion with arthritis-attributable limitations for each state, visit our State Statistics page.

For a simplified summary of the 2015 state files, contact the CDC Arthritis Program.
