شمالی آسٹریلیا (North Australia) آسٹریلیا کا ایک سابقہ علاقہ تھا جس کا بیشتر رقبہ موجودہ شمالی علاقہ میں شامل ہے۔

شمالی آسٹریلیا بطور مستعمر 17 فروری 1846ء سے مختصر طور پر معرض وجود میں ریا۔[1][2]
علاقہ (1927-1931)
جورج پیرس (George Pearce) جو 1920ء میں وفاقی پارلیمنٹ میں ہوم اور علاقائی وزیر تھے، کے خیال میں شمالی آسٹریلیا مناسب طریقے سے حکمرانی کرنے کی لیے کافی بڑا تھا اس لیے ایک قلیل مدت کے لیے علاحدہ علاقے وسطی آسٹریلیا اور شمالی آسٹریلیا کا وجود رہا۔ شمالی آسٹریلیا بطور آسٹریلوی علاقہ 1 فروری 1927 سے 12 جون 1931 تک قائم رہا۔[3][4]
