What We Do

HIV

CDC focuses on effective HIV care and antiretroviral therapy (ART) for adults and children along with the prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections and TB, the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), HIV testing and counseling, laboratory strengthening, HIV surveillance programs, and improving monitoring and evaluation of current HIV programs.

TB

Since the CDC Kenya office launched in 2000, CDC has worked closely with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) to conduct research on TB and TB/HIV. Kisumu, Kenya recently became a research site for the CDC TB Trials Consortium (TBTC).
