Indiana

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) TB Program will host an educational event in honor of World TB Day on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. This free educational forum addresses TB in Indiana and the US, TB among the foreign born, LTBI treatment and Multi-Drug Resistant TB (MDR).

The event targets clinicians, public health nurses, and those individuals who have interest in TB.

New Mexico

A TB ECHO Training Event:  will take place in Albuquerque, NM on March 23 & 24, 2015 to launch a collaborative educational and TB case-management initiative, the NM Department of Health (DOH) TB ECHO Clinic that will convene for 3 hours each month.  The purpose of the ECHO clinic will be to promote development of a community of practice and learning among the NM DOH TB nurses in the 50+ NM DOH offices across New Mexico to ensure high quality of care and treatment of TB across.

New York

In commemoration of World Tuberculosis Day, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of Tuberculosis Control (BTBC) will hold two events to increase awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and to increase efforts to eliminate this preventable and curable disease.  The BTBC will host the Annual World TB Day Conference on Friday, March 20, 2015 and hold a TB Walk on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

The Ohio Department of Health Tuberculosis Program is pleased to announce details for the 2015 Annual World TB Day Conference. The conference will be held at Quest Conference Center, 8405 Pulsar Place Columbus, Ohio 43240.

World TB Day, observed on March 24th each year, is designed to increase public awareness about tuberculosis, and remind public health officials that in much of the world, TB leads to the deaths of nearly one-and-a-half million people each year.

The City of Houston Bureau of Tuberculosis will hold its annual World TB Day celebrations featuring presentations by two pediatric TB experts: Drs. Andrea Cruz and Lindsay Hatzenbuehler from Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. We will also have testimonials from former TB patients to highlight the great work public health workers do on a daily basis.

Virginia

Virginia’s TB Control and Prevention Program will present a videoconference for local health districts across the state on March 24.  A physician will give a presentation on New Drugs and Regimens for TB:  2015 Update.  A scientist will present on NAAT Testing/Results and Culture Probe Results.  In addition, the program will include an epidemiology update in Virginia and cohort review achievements.

The event features the TB Voices Project, which highlights 28 local residents impacted by TB. Wisconsin

Public Health – Madison & Dane County and Mayo Clinic Center for Tuberculosis are jointly hosting the 4th Annual Tuberculosis Summit on Thursday, April 23, 2015. The TB Summit is a full day of presentations, case studies, and discussions. Topics this year include TB Radiology, Adverse Drug Reactions, the Evolution of TB, Legal Issues and TB Control, and Immigration Updates. The WI State TB Program will discuss statewide resources and epidemiology. Guest speakers include both local and national clinicians
