Host an Assignee!

hands holding letters that spell HOSTINGMCHEP provides direct assistance to public health agencies, to develop and promote the analytic capacity of public health agencies and the MCH field.  CDC's MCHEP places senior MCH Epidemiologists in state public health agencies.  Over the last two decades, MCHEP has assigned more than 35 career epidemiologists to 33 states, and 6 other public health agencies and organizations (including Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, CityMatCH, U.S./Mexico border region, and the Indian Health Service). Assignments are prioritized for states with minimal MCH epidemiology capacity.


How to Become a Host Site

  • Submit a proposal to host an assignee
    • Purpose of assignment
      • The proposed role of the assignee in the state/organization
  • Funding mechanism
    • Options for funding the assignment
  • Justification for direct assistance
    • A description of the current epidemiologic capacity of the state/organization
  • Assignment structure
    • Detailed information on the physical location of the assignee
  • Proposal reviewed by program
  • Time Frame for developing an assignment (6-9 months)
  • Feedback provided to host site
  • Consensus on assignment project plan
  • Matching process initiated
