Katherine Weno, DDS, JD

Katherine Weno, D.D.S., J.D., is a Senior Advisor to the Director of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta Georgia. She previously served as the Director of the Division of Oral Health at CDC, where she directed the CDC’s work in oral health surveillance and research, provided leadership on oral health best practices and policy, and collaborated with state oral health programs through 21 cooperative agreements. In her current position she is CDC’s oral health advisor in the Chronic Disease Center, working on health systems integration. Prior to joining CDC in October of 2014, Dr. Weno was the state Dental Director in Kansas, and has also worked as a Medicaid attorney in Kansas City Missouri. A native Iowan, Dr. Weno received both her dental and law degrees from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and maintains dental and legal licenses in Iowa, Missouri and Kansas.
