ഗുജറാ‍ത്തിലെ നാലാമത്തെ വലിയ നഗരമാണ് രാജ്‌കോട് (ഗുജറാത്തി: રાજકોટ, ഹിന്ദി: राजकोट, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Rājkot, pronunciation ). 1.43 ദശലക്ഷം ജനസംഖ്യയുള്ള രാജ്‌കോട് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ വൻ നഗരങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ 28മാതാണ്. [5][6] ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ വേഗതയിൽ വളരുന്ന നഗരങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ ഇത് 22 ആം സ്ഥാനത്താണ്. [7]

വിവരണം
രാജ്‌കോട് ജില്ലയാണ് ഈ പട്ടണം. അജി നദിയുടെ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന രാജ്‌കോട് ആദ്യകാലത്ത് സൌരാഷ്ട്രയുടെ തലസ്ഥാന നഗരിയായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട്, 1 നവംബർ 1956 ന് ഇത് പുതിയ ബോംബെ സംസ്ഥാനവുമായി ലയിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് ബോംബെയിൽ നിന്നും ഇത് 1960 മെയ് 1-ന് രൂപ്പീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഗുജറത്ത് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി.
