Zombie Preparedness for Educators

After the successful zombie preparedness campaign in 2011, an overwhelming number of educators requested zombie-themed preparedness activities for school-aged children. This website was created to help educators teach middle school aged children the basics of emergency preparedness and response using a fun, fictitious scenario.

All lessons posted on this website are fluid, and we appreciate any feedback as to what works and what does not work in practice. The information provided is not exhaustive, but a solid beginning on what it means to be prepared and how it affects students and their community.

Feel free to modify these activities, pass them along, and share your own preparedness lesson plans with us. Whether you are a middle school teacher, scout leader, librarian, or public health ambassador, we hope these lessons will help in teaching the importance of getting a kit, making a plan, and being prepared. Have comments or suggestions? Send feedback to PHPRcommunications@cdc.gov.
