Poster Contest

Have students design and create posters illustrating ways to be prepared for emergencies. Examples of preparedness tips include: assembling a kit, creating a family plan, knowing evacuation routes, and knowing where to get information. Winners can be based on originality, amount of information, and impact.

Emergency Drive

Many school’s run food drives during Thanksgiving or December holidays, but why not run an emergency drive for potential hazards that affect your area? Create an emergency supplies drive and collect emergency kit supplies, including non-perishable food items, flashlights, blankets, and clothes. Donate the items collected to your local Red Cross.
