CDC announces the availability of CDC-RFA-PS16-1603:Expanding Partnerships and Disseminating HIV Prevention Materials to Reduce HIV and other STDs among Adolescents through National Non-Governmental Organizations. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) supports efforts to increase communication and dissemination of CDC-based approaches to school based programs to create healthier adolescents (10-19 years old) with reduced HIV and STD infection. This effort allows CDC to partner with national organizations that have broad public health reach beyond school settings for disseminating DASH prevention tools and materials related to sexual health education, sexual health services, and safe and supportive environments. The expectation is to reach adolescents in schools with information to improve sexual health.

CDC announces the availability of   RFA-1308: Promoting Adolescent Health Through School-Based HIV/STD Prevention and School-Based Surveillance [PDF - 789 KB]  . This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) supports efforts to:

  • conduct school-based surveillance on youth risk behaviors and school health policies and practices;
  • implement school-based programs and practices designed to reduce HIV infection and other STDs among adolescents; and
  • reduce disparities in HIV infection and other STDs among specific adolescent populations.
