The Guide to Community Preventive Services – The Community Preventive Services Task Force, based on a systematic review of the effectiveness of health communication campaigns conducted by researchers at CDC, found communication campaigns can change health behaviors when combined with the distribution of free or reduced-priced related products. Six health-related products were represented in the review: child safety seats, condoms, pedometers, recreational safety helmets, nicotine replacement therapy, and sun-protection products.
