ஜோர்ஜ் டவுன் மாநகரக்கூட்டம் என அழைக்கப்படும் பெருநகர பகுதியில் ஜோர்ஜ் டவுன், பினாங்கு தீவு, செபராங் பிறை ,பட்டர்வொர்த், நிபோங் திபால், பத்து காவான், பிறை, பெர்மாத்தாங் பாவ், சுங்கை பட்டாணி, கூலிம் மற்றும் செர்டாங் நகரங்கள் உள்ளன. இங்கு சுமார் 2.251.042 பேர் வசிக்கிரார்கள்.[1][2][3] இந்த பெருநகர பகுதி மலேசியாவி்ன் இரண்டாவது பெரிய பெருநகர பகுதியாகும்.
