MMWR Introduction

According to the article, "Tobacco Use Among Students Aged 13–15 Years—Kurdistan Region, Iraq, 2005," released in the Friday, May 26, 2006, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention journal, Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, 1 in 10 students currently smoke cigarettes or use other tobacco products. No significant difference was observed between boys and girls in their use of other tobacco products which primarily involves the use of shisha (i.e., flavored tobacco smoked in hookah pipes).
