Retail Food Stores: Small Retail Locations

Small retail locations may provide access to healthy food in a community through roadside markets and produce stands, bodegas, and street carts with fruits and vegetables. Gas stations with convenience stores and corner stores are prevalent, especially in low-income neighborhoods. They typically offer alcohol and high sugar/fat snacks, but they could provide access to healthier food options, such as fruits and vegetables.
