Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide
Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide, sold under the trade name Zestoretic among others, is a combination of the medications lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic.[1] It is used to treat high blood pressure.[1] Typically, it becomes an option once a person is doing well on the individual components.[2] It is taken by mouth.[1]

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, cough, and feeling tired.[3] Severe side effects may include angioedema and low blood pressure.[3] Use during pregnancy may harm the baby.[3]
The combination was approved for medical use in the United States in 1989.[1] It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system.[4] It is available as a generic medication.[2] In the United States the wholesale cost per dose is less than US$0.05 as of 2018.[5] In the United Kingdom it costs the NHS about 0.40 pounds per dose as of 2017.[2] In 2016, it was the 53rd most prescribed medication in the United States with more than 14 million prescriptions.[6]
