ত্রিপুরা হচ্ছে ভারতের উত্তর-পূর্বে অবস্থিত একটি রাজ্য এবং রাজ্যের সরকার প্রধান হচ্ছেন একজন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ১৯৬৩ সাল থেকে ত্রিপুরায় মোট ৯জন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ছিলেন। প্রথম জন হচ্ছেন শচীন্দ্র লাল সিং এবং তিনি ছিলেন ভারতীয় জাতীয় কংগ্রেস পার্টির নেতা। বর্তমান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মাণিক সরকার ১৯৯৮ সালের মার্চ মাস থেকে ত্রিপুরা রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি ভারতের মার্কসবাদী কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির একজন পলিটব্যুরো সদস্য।[1]

  2. On 1 July 1963, the Territorial Council of Union Territory of Tripura was dissolved and the first Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Tripura was constituted. Members of the dissolved Territorial Council became members of the first assembly and permitted to continue for the reminder of their original five year term.
  3. When President's rule is in force in a state, its council of ministers stands dissolved. The office of chief minister thus lies vacant. At times, the legislative assembly also stands dissolved.[3]
  4. On 1 February 1972, State of Tripura came into existence constituted from the erstwhile Union Territory of Tripura.
