An isolate’s Penicillin-Binding Protein (PBP) type, based upon the PBP proteins 1a, 2b and 2x, predict a specific level of resistance to penicillin and other critical antibiotics. Below are minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) tables for reference.1, 2
