Confirmed Cyclosporiasis Cases, United States, Since June 1, 2013*
* N=618. Data are current as of 5pm EDT, 8/29/13. Data are preliminary and subject to change. Cases reported to CDC as of 5pm on 8/29/13 for which onset of illness dates were available. A case is defined as laboratory-confirmed Cyclospora infection in a person with onset of illness since 6/1/13 and no known history of travel outside of the United States or Canada in the 14 days prior to onset of illness. Illnesses that occurred after 7/24/13 might not yet be reported due to the time it takes between when a person becomes ill and when the illness is reported. Although the investigation of cases continues, available evidence suggests that not all of the cases of cyclosporiasis in the various states are directly related to each other.
