Occupational and Environmental Exposures of Skin to Chemicals - 2007

This international conference will bring together occupational and environmental health professionals, dermatologists, laboratory scientists, policy-makers and others to focus on the science, knowledge gaps, future challenges, and policy opportunities related to occupational and environmental exposures of the skin to chemicals, with a special emphasis on improved prevention of local and systemic injury and disease caused by exposing skin to chemicals. Contact Dermatitis 2006 - Blending Science with Best Practice

This will be the fifth meeting of the Experimental Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ECDRG). The goal of this meeting is to continue the activities of a research group which was established in 1999 in North America that meets every 24 months to discuss the basic and applied science of contact dermatitis.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) co-sponsored this second conference following the success of the first International Conference on Occupational and Environmental Exposures of Skin to Chemicals: Science and Policy.

Contact Dermatitis 2004 – Blending Science with Best Practice

This was the fourth meeting of the Experimental Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ECDRG), but the first primarily hosted by Federal agencies [the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS)]. Organizers included the Experimental Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ECDRG), the American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS), and the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Allergic and Irritant Dermatitis Team. The conference was held Thursday, Friday, Saturday, October 28-30, 2004 in Bethesda, Maryland.

The International Conference on Occupational & Environmental Exposures of Skin to Chemicals: Science & Policy , September 8-11, 2002

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) co-sponsored this inaugural conference to bring together dermatologists, occupational hygienists, laboratory researchers, policy makers and others to focus on the science, knowledge gaps and policy opportunities related to occupational and environmental exposures of the skin to chemicals.

The site was the Hilton Crystal City at Ronald Reagan National Airport hotel. The main conference was followed by a one-day workshop focusing on specific research and public health opportunities for decreasing the burden of skin exposures to chemicals in both workplaces and the general environment. Approximately 135 individuals attended.
