Tilting Water Bottle Cradle

ERGONOMIC INTERVENTIONS IN SHIPYARDS

Hazard: Water bottles weighing up to 40 pounds are provided for workers at remote locations. Lifting the water bottle to pour a drink may cause stress on the back and the arms of the workers.

Solution: Workers built a water bottle tilting cradle on a wheeled cart (see photo) to eliminate manual handling of bottle while pouring drinks. Bottle cradle minimizes the stress on the workers' backs and arms.
