ERGONOMIC INTERVENTIONS IN SHIPYARDS
Hazard: A loop-handle hammer concentrates the contact stresses on the back of the fingers and on the palm possibly damaging nerves or blood vessels in the hand.
Solution: A coiled-handled hammer (at left in photo) spreads the contact stresses out across the palm and fingers reducing the likelihood of injury.
