Mining Product: ARMPS-HWM - Analysis of Retreat Mining Pillar Stability - Highwall Mining

Original creation date: March 2006

ARMPS-HWM is a modification of Analysis of Retreat Mining Pillar Stability (ARMPS) software for designing web and barrier pillars for Highwall Mining (HWM).

ARMPS-HWM calculates stability factors based on estimates of the loads applied to, and the load-bearing capacities of, web and barrier pillars used in highwall mining operations. The program considers the depth of cover, the highwall miner hole width, the mining height and the number of holes between barrier pillars. It uses a pillar strength formula that considers the strength of long, rectangular pillars. The program reports the stability factor of the web pillars, the stability factor of the barrier pillars and the overall system stability factor.

The download file is an executable which runs a setup program.
