Pay for Success
A How-To Guide for Local Government Focused on Lead-Safe Homes
Pay for Success, also known as Social Impact Bonds, is an innovative funding arrangement that focuses on achieving outcomes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a guide on how to use the Pay for Success model in lead poisoning prevention programs. The guide provides steps for implementing a Pay for Success model that focuses on proven strategies, such as housing unit remediation and housing code enforcement, to reduce lead exposures.
Over the next 2 years, CDC will pilot and evaluate implementation of the guide for broad use in childhood lead poisoning prevention activities across the nation.
