During February 20–21, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will meet in Atlanta. The agenda will include agency updates and routine discussion on vaccines for pneumococcal infection, Haemophilus influenzae b (Hib), Japanese encephalitis, and pertussis. In addition to workgroup updates, the committee will vote on recommendations on (1) the use of PCV13 (pneumococcal conjugate vaccine) in children aged 6–18 years with immune-compromising conditions; (2) use of the Hib vaccine; and (3) coverage for both under the Vaccines for Children program for those who are eligible to receive free vaccine under this program. The committee also will vote on proposed influenza vaccine recommendations for the 2013–2014 flu season. No media activities are planned.
