CDC Adds African-American Media Resources to New Online Newsroom
What:
Resources for African-American media have been added to the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Online Newsroom. The African-American Media Resource section is designed to provide easy access to credible health information for African-American media and media with an African-American audience. The web pages will supplement the new CDC Online Newsroom, which launched on September 4, 2008.
African-American Media Resources include:
- Quick links to popular information like African-American health disparity information or data and statistics
- An expanded library of formatted articles targeted to African-American readers. These ready-to-print health articles are free to use in any publication
- Biographies for some of CDC's most popular African-American experts
- Timely story ideas of special relevance for African-American audiences
- Contact information for Rhonda Smith, CDC's African-American Public Affairs Specialist
The following features of the new CDC Online Newsroom are available for all media:
- Sign-up option to receive embargoed press releases and updates from other CDC publications
- Newsroom image library with frequently requested high resolution photos
- Press officer contact information
- CDC media kit and fast facts
When:
CDC African-American Media Resources are live. The new online newsroom is accessible at www.cdc.gov/media.
