பனி மந்தி

பனி மந்தி என்றழைக்கப்படும் சப்பானிய மக்காக்கு (Japanese Macaque) சப்பான் நாட்டைத் தாயகமாகக் கொண்ட ஒரு வகைக் குரங்கு. மனிதனைத் தவிர மற்ற முதனிகள் யாவினும் இதுவே வடமுனைக்கு அருகே உள்ளது. இவற்றின் மயிர் சாம்பலும் பழுப்பும் கலந்தும் முகம், உள்ளங்கை முதலியன சிவந்தும் இருக்கும்.

சப்பானிய மக்காக்கு மந்திகள் குளிர் காலத்தில் நகானோ நகருக்கு வருவது வழக்கம்.
