কনজাংটিভা এক ধরনের ঝিল্লী যা স্ক্লেরার (চোখের সাদা অংশ) আবরক হিসেবে কাজ করে।

কনজাংটিভা মিউকাস ও চোখের জল তৈরির মাধ্যমে চোখের আর্দ্রতা ও পিচ্ছিলতা ধরে রাখে, চোখে জীবাণু প্রবেশে বাধা দেয়।[1]
