Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities

  • Universal Data Collection (UDC)

    The UDC project was designed to monitor two major complications of bleeding disorders (Thalassemia, Thrombosis, and Hemophilia): joint disease and blood-borne viruses. Patient health information and blood specimens for serologic testing were collected by staff at 135 hemophilia treatment centers.

Child and Adolescent Health

  • School Health Policies and Practices Study (SHPPS)

    The SHPPS is a national survey periodically conducted to assess school health policies and practices at the state, district, school, and classroom levels. SHPPS assesses the characteristics of eight components of school health at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

  • Cancer Query Systems (CANQUES)
    Web-based interface that allows you to retrieve the statistics relevant to your research not found in a published format. One can select the type of statistic and stratification variables used in the report; select the format of the report by choosing from various table and graph formats; and extract the statistics, in a delimited format, for further analyses in other software.
  • Chronic Disease Indicators
    The Chronic Disease Indicators facilitate and standardize surveillance for states, territories and large metropolitan areas.
  • Chronic Kidney Disease Surveillance System
    The Chronic Kidney Disease Surveillance System documents the burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its risk factors in the U.S. population over time and tracks the progress of efforts to prevent, detect, and manage CKD. It also provides the means for evaluating, monitoring, and implementing quality improvement efforts by both federal and nonfederal agencies.
  • Data, Trends and Maps
    CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity’s Data, Trends and Maps database is an interactive tool that provides state specific data about obesity, nutrition, physical activity and breastfeeding.   • Interactive Cancer Atlas
    CDC’s Interactive Cancer Atlas (InCA) uses United States Cancer Statistics (USCS) data to create U.S. maps that allow you to make quick comparisons, including incidence or mortality rate or count, cancer site, gender, race/ethnicity, and year.   • Interactive Atlas for Heart Disease and Stroke
    Web-based interface that allows users to view county-level maps of heart disease and stroke by racial/ethnic group, along with maps of social environmental conditions and health services for the entire United States or for a chosen state or territory.
  • National Cardiovascular Disease Surveillance System Data Trends & Maps
    Data Trends & Maps allows users to view multiple indicators from multiple data sources, to provide a comprehensive picture of the public health burden of CVDs and associated risk factors at the national, regional, and state level. This website is in the process of being updated with the most current data, as well as additional indicators and data sources.
  • State Tobacco Activities Tracking and Evaluation (STATE) System
    An electronic data warehouse containing up-to-date and historical state-level data on tobacco use prevention and control. The STATE System is designed to integrate many data sources to provide comprehensive summary data and facilitate research and consistent data interpretation.
  • United States Cancer Statistics: Data Visualizations (USCS Data Viz)
    A user-friendly, interactive U.S. Cancer Statistics  display tool that allows the official federal cancer statistics to be directly and more easily accessible by multiple users, including the general public, media, public health professionals, cancer control planners, researchers, students, policymakers, and more. Interactive graphics and interpretation make it easy for anyone to explore and use the latest official federal cancer data for the entire United States and each state by cancer type, demographics, and year.

    The U.S. National Diabetes Surveillance System provides resources documenting the public health burden of diabetes and its complications at the national, state, and county level.

Disabilities

  • Disability and Health Data System (DHDS)

    An online interactive tool that provides instant access to state-level, disability-specific health data. Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data are analyzed among adults with and without disabilities for approximately 70 demographic and health indicators, and the data are available by indicator and by state. Users can customize the disability and health data they view, making it easy to identify health disparities between adults with and without disabilities.

Environmental Health

  • National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network (NEPHTN)

    Environmental public health tracking is the ongoing collection, integration, analysis, and interpretation of data about environmental hazards, exposure to environmental hazards, and health effects potentially related to exposure to environmental hazards.

Global Health

  • Global Health Observatory (GHO)

    Theme pages provide data and analyses on global health priorities. Each theme page provides information on global situation and trends highlights, using core indicators, database views, major publications and links to relevant web pages on the theme.

  • Global Tobacco Surveillance System Data (GTSSData)

    GTSSData houses and displays data from four tobacco-related surveys conducted around the world.

Health Risk Behavior

  • The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) (Scroll to Interactive Databases)

    World’s largest, on-going telephone health survey system, tracking health conditions and risk behaviors in the United States yearly since 1984. Currently, data are collected monthly in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam.

  • Youth Online: High School Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance

    Youth Online allows analysis of national, state, and local Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) data from 1991-2009. Data from high school and middle school surveys are included. Filter and sort on the basis of race/ethnicity, sex, grade, or site, create customized tables and graphs, and perform statistical tests by site and health topic.

HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Viral Hepatitis

  • National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) Atlas

    The NCHHSTP Atlas provides an interactive platform for accessing HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted disease (STD), and tuberculosis (TB) data. Currently, the atlas provides interactive maps, graphics, and tables showing geographic patterns and time trends of HIV, AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, primary and secondary syphilis, early latent syphilis, tuberculosis, and acute viral hepatitis A, B, and C surveillance data. HIV and STD data are available at the county level; all data are available at the state and national levels.

  • Sexually Transmitted Disease Morbidity Data

    The number of cases and disease incidence rates are reported by year, type of STD, and area of report and are further aggregated by gender or gender, age group, and race/ethnicity.

Infectious Disease

  • MMWR Mortality Tables

    As part of its national influenza surveillance effort, CDC receives weekly mortality reports from 122 cities and metropolitan areas in the United States within 2-3 weeks from the date of death. These reports summarize the total number of deaths occurring in these cities/areas each week, as well as the number attributed to pneumonia and influenza. Data are published weekly in Table IV of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR).

  • National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) Tables (MMWR Morbidity Tables)

    Data for selected nationally notifiable diseases reported by the 50 states, New York City, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories are collated and published weekly in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR).

Influenza

  • Population-based Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance (FluSurv-NET)

    The FluSurv-NET conducts surveillance for population-based, lab-confirmed influenza related hospitalizations in children (< 18 years) and adults. It covers over 80 counties in the 10 Emerging Infections Program (EIP) states and additional Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance Project (IHSP) states.

Oral Health

  • National Oral Health Surveillance System (NOHSS)

    NOHSS monitors the burden of oral disease, use of oral health care delivery system, and status of community water fluoridation on both a national and state level. It is designed to track oral health surveillance indicators based on data sources and surveillance capacity available to most states.

Population

  • U.S. Census Estimates Request

    This data set has counts of resident population by state, county, age range, gender, and race. Census years are 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000. Data for non-census years are projected.

  • U.S. Census Projections Request

    This database contains population projections by race, gender, and age for all fifty states and the District of Columbia for the years 2004 to 2030.

    View national and state-level influenza vaccination coverage estimates using interactive maps, trend lines, bar charts, and data tables.

  • SchoolVaxView Interactive!

    SchoolVaxView is your source for data, information, and news about school vaccination coverage from state and territory reports of the estimated number of children in childcare, kindergarten, and middle school who have received vaccinations recommended or required by their state.
