NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL MORTALITY SURVEILLANCE (NOMS)

NIOSH National Occupational Mortality Surveillance (NOMS) is a state-based program that monitors or provides periodic surveillance of work-related acute and chronic disease mortality among workers in many U.S. states. The program protects workers by evaluating the size and extent of acute and chronic disease mortality in association with occupational and industrial settings. NOMS does this by identifying new risks or confirming existing risks for acute and chronic occupational disease mortality that can point to opportunities for prevention.
