Rabid Raccoons Reported in the United States during 2013

The figure shows a map of the United States with highlighted counties where rabid raccoons were reported during 2013. The majority of cases occurred in the eastern United States. A few cases were also reported in central Texas. The total number of reported cases involving raccoons in 2013 was 1,898, representing 32.3 percent of all wildlife rabies cases in the United States.
