The mission of the Office of Public Health Scientific Services is to lead, promote, and facilitate science standards and policies to reduce the burden of diseases in the United States and globally. We serve as a principal advisor to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director on strategic initiatives and provide leadership to the National Center for Health Statistics and the Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services.
