  The National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) is a unit of the CDC.  The NCEH plans, directs, and coordinates a national program to maintain and improve the health of American people by promoting a healthy environment and by preventing premature death and avoidable illness and disability caused by non-infectious, non-occupational environmental related factors. • National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals
  This link contains two sources of information about the exposure of the U.S. population to environmental chemicals, including:  1) new results published in the peer-reviewed literature that have been released after the  National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals was published, and 2) full text of the this National Report.  The National Report provides some background information on NHANES as well as exposure information about environmental chemicals studied in the NHANES.

• US EPA - Handbook for Use of Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES): A Goldmine of Data for Environmental Health Analyses  
  NHANES is a strong database that offers a large amount of human health, nutrition, and exposure information.  The NHANES survey is very complex and has many limitations.  Despite this, it is still a very strong and informative dataset.  This handbook was designed to inform and familiarize Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) staff members about NHANES and foster an increased use of the data.

  The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is a division of the National Institute of Health.  Its goal is to reduce the burden of illness and disability by understanding the environment and how it influences the progression of human diseases. This is its homepage.

  The Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program (TEHIP) is a part of the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM) and was created to provide automated toxicology data banks as well as provide toxicology data and information services.  This website provides links to specific topics including but not limited to chemicals and drugs, diseases and the environment, environmental health, etc.

  Healthy People is a wide range of public health opportunities that exist in the 21st century.  It provides  a comprehensive health plan for the United States.  It was created by a coalition of experts from many different sectors, including environmental health. This is its homepage.
