New CDC analysis finds gaps in care and treatment among Latinos diagnosed with HIV - October 9, 2014
In advance of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, CDC released a new analysis showing that fewer than half of Latinos diagnosed with HIV are receiving the treatment and care they need. HIV treatment is critically important because it helps people live longer, healthier lives and can prevent transmission of the virus to partners.

New Guidelines Recommend Daily HIV Prevention Pill for Those at Substantial Risk - May 14, 2014
New clinical guidelines recommend health care providers consider pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for patients at substantial risk for HIV. PrEP is the use of anti-HIV drugs by people who do not have HIV to reduce the risk of infection.

More than 4,000 leading researchers and clinicians from around the world convened in Boston, Massachusetts for the 21st Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). Several CDC authors presented findings from their research at CROI in a number of topic areas including PrEP-related animal research, stages of the HIV continuum of care, and HIV drug resistance.
National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – HIV Care Continuum among African American - February 6, 2014
February 7 marks the 14th annual observance of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. African Americans continue to bear the greatest burden of HIV in the United States. Although HIV treatment helps people live healthy lives and prevent transmission of the virus to partners, the findings — published today in CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report — underscore the need to ensure that all African Americans who are infected with HIV receive the care and treatment they need.
