Description
The map shows that concentrations of counties with the highest heart disease hospitalization rates - meaning the top quintile - are located primarily in Louisiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Pockets of high-rate counties also were found in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, and Michigan.
