Joyce Turner, MS, CGC, is a genetic counselor with more than 15 years of experience. She has a master’s degree in medical genetics and is the director of a genetic counseling program on the East Coast. She provides counseling to individuals and families with a history of cancer. Ms. Turner helps patients decide if genetic testing is right for them by talking about their personal medical history, their family health history and other considerations. She also explains the testing process. After testing, Ms. Turner talks through test results with patients, explaining what they mean and providing resources so women can make informed decisions.
