ചെങ്കോമാളി

ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഒരു പൂമ്പാറ്റയാണ് ചെങ്കോമാളി (Talicada nyseus).[1][2][3][4] ചിറകിൽ ചുവന്ന അടയാളമുള്ള ഇവയെ പെട്ടെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാവുന്നതാണ്. പൊന്തക്കാടുകളിലും കുറ്റിക്കാടുകളിലും കണ്ടുവരുന്നു. മഴക്കാലം തുടങ്ങുന്നതിന് മുമ്പേ പൂക്കുന്ന ഇലമുളച്ചി ചെടികളിൽ തേൻ കുടിയ്ക്കാൻ ഇവ കൂട്ടമായി എത്താറുണ്ട്. ഈ ചെടിയിൽ തന്നെയാണ് മുട്ടയിടുന്നത്.[5]
