হিরণ্যাক্ষ

হিরণ্যাক্ষ (সংস্কৃত: हिरण्याक्ष, "স্বর্ণচক্ষু বিশিষ্ট")[1] ছিলেন একজন মহাপ্রতাপশালী অসুররাজ। তিনি অারেক বিখ্যাত অসুররাজ হিরণ্যকশিপুর ছোটভাই ছিলেন। পুরাণ অনুযায়ী, হিরণ্যাক্ষ পৃথিবীকে সমুদ্রের তলায় ডুবিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন। বিষ্ণু বরাহরূপে পৃথিবীকে উদ্ধার করতে এলে তাঁর সাথে হিরণ্যাক্ষের যুদ্ধ হয়। যুদ্ধে বরাহরূপী বিষ্ণু দাঁতের অাঘাতে হিরণ্যাক্ষকে হত্যা করেন।[2]
