The Victim Compensation Fund (VCF), which is separate from the World Trade Center Health Program, provides compensation for any individual (or a personal representative of a deceased individual) who suffered physical harm or illness, or were killed as a result of the terrorist-related aircraft crashes of September 11, 2001 or the debris removal efforts that took place in the immediate aftermath of those crashes. For more information about, or to apply to, the VCF visit www.vcf.gov or call 1-855-885-1555.
The World Trade Center Health Registry (Registry) monitors the health of people exposed to the World Trade Center disaster through periodic health surveys. By looking at responses to health questions over time, and matching the information to other health registries, much can be learned about the long-term health effects of 9/11. For more information about the Registry visit http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/wtc/html/registry/registry.shtml.
